FYI, I'm planning on being in Johnson City (Binghamton) all day on Saturday helping my folks dry out their basement from the massive flooding that hit the area this week. I'll therefore be away from a computer until at least Saturday night, and more likely until Sunday morning. Therefore, expect a delay for your pick to be posted if you entering your pick tomorrow. Holy crap, it's that time of year again. Two nights from tonight the latest installment of the epic NFL Suicide Pool will kickoff (from the 30-yard line, not the 35). Well, technically the NFL season starts on Thursday night, but I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would risk their 1st pick of the year on either the Saints over the Packers, or vice versa. Most likely, everyone will have to wait until Sunday to begin their year.
For returning players, nothing has changed from last year. For new players, and I see a lot of new names up there on the Big Board, the main thing to keep mindful of is the deadline to enter picks. The deadline is posted at the top of this page and the top of the Field. Since a good majority of the NFL games are on Sundays and Monday, all picks need to be in by 11:30pm the preceeding Saturday. If you're going on vacation or know you'll be away from a computer for an extended period of time, you may enter picks for multiple weeks in the future. If you enter a pick but decide you want to change it, that's fine, just enter another pick prior to the deadline, and I'll change it.
Also for newbies, your pick isn't automatically entered when you click on the 'submit' button. I still have to manually enter it. My time is stretched a little thin this time of year too. I have a full time job, have 2 young children, and I referee basketball in the winter, so it's not unusual for there to be some lag time between when you submit the pick and when it's posted. I'm sure there's a way to have your pick posted immediatly upon entering it, but my web design skills haven't kept up with the times. Bottom line: as long as you submit your pick by the deadline, you're safe. If you run into any error messages or have any quesitons, feel free to email me at jda@andrejkohoops.com.

FYI, I'll be out of town at a wedding (congratulations, Rick and Kristen!)which will take up just about all of my Saturday (10/2). This means I'll be away from a computer for a very long time, and no, I don't have one of those smartphone things. Since many of you tend to enter your picks throughout the day on Saturdays, you may notice that if you enter your Week 4 pick on this coming Saturday, you probably won't see it posted until sometime on Sunday. If you run into any issues with entering your pick, I'll also accept picks this week via email at jonnya992001@yahoo.com. Please note the deadline still applies.
For any of you degenerates who also will be in attendance at the wedding festivities: No, I will not accept any of your picks at any time during the day and/or night in person. You are not allowed to tell me you want the Saints during the exchanging of the vows, nor is it cool to tell me you like the Packers during first dance. This includes the groom too (McGovern).

Welcome back for another year of pigskin prognosticating. As I'm sure you've noticed, I'm a little more behind than usual in getting all my ducks in a row. One caveat, make sure you don't use this site to look too far into the future. The NFL schedules linked on The Field page are only current through Week 5. I'll work on the rest of the schedules this weekend.
Additionally, I haven't sent out any passcodes to any players (old or new) and I don't think I will. I'm not sure how essential they are. As long as everyone include their name and email address when entering picks we should be fine. That seems sufficient, right? I know most of you, or know someone who knows probably all of you, and you're all mostly stand-up individuals.
Lastly, get your picks in on time and get you payments in, stat. Everything runs much more smoothly when those two things happen. And please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
